California Privacy Rights Notice

Last Updated: June 15, 2026

1. Introduction

This notice supplements our Privacy Policy and applies to California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). The short version: Readable Recipes has no accounts and does not build profiles of you. The extension transmits only anonymous recipe data, and the website uses a single consent cookie. We do not sell or share personal information.

2. Personal Information We Collect

"Personal information" under the CCPA is information that identifies or could reasonably be linked to a particular consumer or household. We are structured to avoid collecting it:

Across the CCPA categories — identifiers, customer records, protected classifications, commercial information, biometric data, internet activity tied to an individual, geolocation, sensory data, professional or education information, and inferences/profiles — we do not collect personal information, except the contact-email case above. The recipe data the extension sends is anonymous and is not, by itself or in combination, reasonably linkable to you.

3. How We Use It

Anonymous recipe data is used only to develop and improve Readable Recipes, as described in our Privacy Policy. A contact email is used only to reply to you.

4. Sale or Sharing of Personal Information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not done so in the preceding twelve (12) months. We use service providers (such as our hosting provider) solely to operate the service.

5. Your Rights

California residents have the right to know what personal information we hold, to request its deletion, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. Because we hold essentially no personal information about you, a request to know or delete will usually return nothing to disclose, and there is no sale or sharing to opt out of. The anonymous recipe data cannot be traced to you, so we cannot identify or selectively delete "your" contributions.

6. Non-Discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. The extension is free and behaves the same whether or not you exercise them.

7. How to Exercise Your Rights

Submit a request through our contact page. We may need to verify that a request relates to information we actually hold before responding.

8. Changes to This Notice

We may update this notice and will post the revised version here with a new "Last Updated" date.
